South Sudan

The Council continues to hold annual deliberations on South Sudan based on the report of the Secretary-General. Since 2020 the report on the Implementation of integrated, coherent and coordinated support to South Sudan and the Sahel region by the United Nations has included a section on the Sahel region.  The report provides an outline of the major developments in South Sudan and an overview of UN system support for South Sudan. The ECOSOC Transition Meeting includes the consideration of agenda items related to country-specific situations, including the integrated, coherent and coordinated support to South Sudan.
