The Committee for Development Policy (CDP) will hold its twenty-seventh session from Monday, 24 February, to Friday, 28 February 2025.

The Committee for Development Policy (CDP), a subsidiary body of ECOSOC, advises the Council on a wide range of issues that are relevant for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 

The CDP is mandated to provide advice to ECOSOC on its annual theme from a development policy lens and has a number of functions related to the category of least developed countries (LDCs). Every three years the CDP reviews the least developed country (LDC) category and recommends to ECOSOC and the UN General Assembly which countries should be included into or graduated from the list. The review is based on quantitative criteria developed by the CDP as well as country-specific additional information. The CDP also monitors countries that are graduating or have graduated from the LDC list and alerts ECOSOC of any sign of deterioration of their development progress.  More…
