ECOSOC Briefing on the Zika Virus

The President of the Economic and Social Council (Republic of Korea) convened a briefing on the Zika virus on 16 February 2016. The Council was briefed by the World Health Organization (WHO) Office at the United Nations (New York), the Pan American Health Organization and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the situation update. In addition, a representative from the Ministry of Health of Brazil and the UN Resident Coordinator in Haiti briefed the Council on the response to the Zika virus.
