2015 Annual Ministerial Review
Managing the transition from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The 2015 Annual Ministerial Review (AMR) took place on 9-10 July in New York in the context of the Council’s High-level Segment week, which also included the ministerial segment of the High-level Political Forum, held under the auspices of ECOSOC from 6-8 July.
The AMR focused on “Managing the transition from the MDGs to the sustainable development goals (SDGs): What it will take:” Four countries—Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines and Zambia—will deliver national voluntary presentations (NVP).
This year marked the final AMR before the transition to the High-level Political Forum (HLPF), held under the auspices of ECOSOC. Building on the achievements of the AMR, the HLPF began reviewing progress on commitments to the new sustainable development agenda in 2016. The Economic and Social Council continued the integrated and coordinated follow-up of the outcomes of all major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic, social, environmental and related fields.
