2017 ECOSOC e-Discussion: Eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions through promoting sustainable development, expanding opportunities and addressing related challenges

WHAT?

The 2017 e-Discussion is taking place from 20 March – 12 April. The discussion will address specific aspects of the 2017 ECOSOC theme “Eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions through promoting sustainable development, expanding opportunities and addressing related challenges”.

The 2017 e-Discussion consists of three concurrently running thematic windows, each led by an expert moderator. The thematic windows address:

             1.   Eradicating poverty and leaving no one behind

                   Moderator: Mr. Pedro Conceição, Director, Strategic Policy, Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, UNDP;

             2.   New evidence and innovations in poverty eradication efforts

                   Moderator: Ms. Wenyan Yang, Chief, Social Perspective on Development Branch, Division for Social Policy and Development, DESA; and

             3.   Systemic challenges and opportunities in eradicating poverty

                   Moderator: Mr. Vinicius Pinheiro, Special Representative to the UN and Director, ILO Office for the UN.

WHO?

Stakeholders, experts, practitioners and policy-makers from all over the world are invited to engage in this global dialogue.
