WHAT
The President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), H.E. Inga Rhonda King (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines), is convening an informal briefing on “Getting to know the ECOSOC system in the SDG era”, to be held on Wednesday, 23 January, at 10 a.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.
WHO
This event will gather ECOSOC Members, as well as other Members and Observers to the United Nations.
HOW
During the briefing, the ECOSOC President will share her vision for the Economic and Social Council and the expectations from ECOSOC Members. The briefing will include reflections from former Bureau Members on how the Council adapted to change over the recent years. A preview of the 2019 ECOSOC Programme of Work will be presented. The briefing will also provide an opportunity for question and answer. This political part of the briefing will be followed by a technical UNITAR Orientation Course on ECOSOC.
