Welcome to the United Nations 
The Special Meeting of the Economic and Social Council on Forced Displacement and Refugee Protection took place on Thursday, 24 April 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, United Nations Headquarters in New York. Member States, observers, UN partners, and representatives from international financial institutions and civil society came together to discuss and explore sustainable approaches to providing assistance and protection to refugees and host communities, while pursuing durable solutions to the crisis of forced displacement.
The meeting highlighted good practices in refugee hosting and inclusion in national systems, and efforts to address the needs of displaced persons and host communities, while furthering the achievement of the sustainable development goals.
